What other clients say about working with me.
“Working with Leslie is what I always hoped being in academia would be like.”
WHEN I began the process with Leslie, I assumed it was going to be mostly a technical and organizational exercise to help identify my ideas that already existed and reorganize them. Leslie offers so much more than that. She engaged deeply with the ideas, challenged them where needed, and helped me develop a framework that was there in parts, but so fractured and unarticulated that the product now (a year later) is wholly unrecognizable and significantly higher in quality than where I was when I began the process.
Leslie also played the role of motivational coach. Writing a book is emotional. Full of ups and downs. Disappointments, writer’s block, etc. Leslie kindly, but firmly, kept me on track. That kind of support was more than just an accountability mechanism. It was also different than what a co-author could have provided. It was so helpful and encouraging to get external feedback on the ideas and findings, and in a genuine way. Leslie understood deeply my contributions and their place in the field.
The list of things Leslie has helped with are hard to enumerate. The first thing, however, was to nail down the story. Since my book occupies a rare position between two fields, it makes the book’s main pitch, the main story, hard to get right. Being outside of my field, Leslie was nevertheless able to ask the right questions to develop the theory so that it spoke to both my discipline and a broader audience. At times I needed to be dissuaded from things that took away from my main argument.
What surprised me the most about working with Leslie was how effortlessly she was able to engage with theory [in my field]. She wasn't familiar with it per se, but the conversations we had really pushed me in the right directions to finesse that side of the project.
I already recommend Leslie's services to my colleagues. When I explain how the process works, people exclaim how they would love to have that kind of help. It really has been such a positive experience. I think Leslie's ability in writing coaching is world class. You will not be disappointed!

“Our sessions are where the magic happens.”
WORKING with Leslie as my book writing coach has exceeded my expectations. Her support and guidance have allowed me the time and space to develop my ideas and realize my vision for my book and book proposal. Our weekly/biweekly one-hour meetings have been instrumental, serving as a springboard for me to bounce my ideas off of Leslie. When I feel stuck, she helps me articulate my points and clarifies my communication. I cannot overstate the value of this aspect, as it leaves me with a sense of accomplishment and a clear roadmap for the next steps.
What surprised me the most is the level of accountability I have gained from working with Leslie. Whether it's working on articles or meeting deadlines, knowing that Leslie will review my work before the due date has motivated me to be proactive and avoid last-minute rushes.
With Leslie's assistance, I have now successfully secured a book contract! Thanks to her guidance, I now have increased confidence in reaching out to book acquisition editors for publication opportunities.

“It’s been really generative to talk through my ideas.”
Working with Leslie has been helpful in many ways. First, having weekly meetings has been invaluable to my thinking and processing of really hard parts of one of the book chapters I’ve been working on with her. Our conversations and her attention to my writing have allowed me to crystallize my main argument in a chapter that I was really struggling with. Prior to working with Leslie on this chapter, I had felt so stuck with this particular chapter, and saw no way forward.
Leslie has also provided me with the accountability I need and excitement to keep facing my book project. As a first-time book author, Leslie’s holistic approach to editing –– not just through reading what I'm writing and providing written feedback, but also through our one-on-one sessions –– that allows me to process and think out loud have made me more confident in my own ideas and thinking. Writing can be such a lonely process, and it’s been really generative to be able to talk through my ideas with someone who is so engaged with my project. I’m excited to keep working through the other parts of my book project with Leslie.

“Leslie brings a rare combination of skill, intuition, and care…”
Leslie was a phenomenal editor and thought partner throughout my book-writing process. Even though the topic was outside of her usual academic editing focus, her insights were consistently thoughtful, sharp, and spot-on. She provided timely edits and encouraging feedback that helped me stay grounded and clear. Leslie quickly grasped the tone and direction I was aiming for, and her responsiveness made the collaboration seamless. Her suggestions truly elevated the final manuscript. I highly recommend working with her, regardless of your genre—she brings a rare combination of skill, intuition, and care.
